Saturday 20 July - Sunday 8 September
An exhibition exploring the life and beauty of birds that thrive ‘on the edge’ of habitats, including turtle doves, redstart, song thrush and yellowhammer.
It will also provide insight into the importance of conserving and enhancing their habitats. From ponds to wildflower plots, these vital spaces offer shelter, food and safety for these remarkable creatures.
Exhibiting artists include Bridget Bailey (textile), Holly Magdalene Scott (print), Jo Blaker (mixed drawing media), Lyn Bailey (print), Jean Cunion (ceramics), Katie Timson (ceramics), Jenny McCabe (print), Jacqui Atkin (ceramics), Jean White (ceramics) and Peter Reynolds (paint).
Art and music created by students from Scarborough Pupil Referral Unit, inspired by their engagement with the Birds on the Edge project and lived experiences, will also be on display.
About the Birds on the Edge project
The Birds on the Edge project, funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund and led by the North York Moors Trust, is an initiative seeking to bring nature and people closer together, whilst supporting a range of birds to thrive, some whose very existence is under threat.
