Sutton Bank A170 road closure
In place from Sunday 13 September to Sunday 4 October. Sutton Bank National Park Centre and In the Wilde cafe remain open. Sutton Bank Bikes will be open on weekends only. Signed diversions will be in place from Thirsk. Sutton Bank is accessible from Helmsley as normal.

Extreme risk of wildfire in the North York Moors (autumn 2026)
The National Park can still be enjoyed safely, but extra caution is required.
* No BBQs, stoves or open fires - bring a cold picnic instead
* Don't smoke on or near moorland; dispose cigarettes and matches safely
*Take all rubbish home, especially glass bottles

Langdale Forest & Fylingdales Moor restoration updates (autumn 2026)
Open Access and Public Rights of Way are open, however the landscape across Fylingdales Moor remains vulnerable to further damage and erosion. Visitors are asked to follow any advisory signage and remain on designated paths, helping to protect public safety and support long-term environmental recovery.
