All Members of the Authority serve on the Planning Committee.

Its responsibilities include:

  • Determining planning applications
  • Authorising some enforcement action
  • Deciding on the formation and review of planning policies
  • Authorising Tree Preservation Orders

Business

1. Livestreaming and recording – The chair to inform members of the public that the meeting is livestreamed and recorded.

2. Apologies for absence.

3. Public minutes of the meeting held on Thursday 8 February 2024.

4. Public question time (an opportunity for members of the public to ask questions)

5. Members are reminded that it is their responsibility to declare the nature of any personal, prejudicial and/or disclosable interests relating to any agenda item immediately prior to its consideration and are encouraged to complete a written declaration using the form provided.

6. Emergency evacuation procedure – The chair to inform members of the public of the emergency evacuation procedure.

7. Exclusion of the public from the meeting during consideration of Item No.12 on the grounds that it involves the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraphs 1, 2, 6 and 7 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A to the Local Government Act 1972.

10. To consider applications, together with the Director of Planning recommendations thereon.

  1. NYM/2024/0102 - alterations, construction of porch, removal of two rear dormer windows and construction of two storey extension, alterations to one rear dormer window to form balcony together with installation of air source heat pump at  Hill Top, Clack Lane, Osmotherley
  2. NYM/2024/0093 - conversion of and extension to redundant buildings to form one local occupancy dwelling with associated garage/workshop/store and amenity space (revised scheme to planning approval NYM/2020/0374/FL) (retrospective) at  Rye Hill Farm, Great Ayton
  3. NYM/2023/0771 - erection of five cabins for holiday letting purposes with associated access, parking and landscaping works at  land at Westlands Farm, Osmotherley
  4. NYM/2024/0092 - siting of one log cabin for holiday letting purposes at Land off High Street, Hinderwell

Note:

This will only be undertaken when absolutely necessary and at the Chair’s discretion. Lunch will be available at approximately 12.30 pm.  Members taking lunch will have the appropriate amount deducted from any subsistence claim they may make.
  • Tea and coffee will be available a quarter of an hour before the meeting.
  • Please ensure when parking in the car park that you have not caused an obstruction which could prevent emergency vehicles accessing the building.
