Check out the video above! We headed back to White Lodge Farm, Langdale End to see the incredible transformation of the first woodland that we planted back in 2017 under our Woodland Creation Grant Scheme.
This ambitious 100-year initiative seeks to create 7,000 hectares of new deciduous wooded habitat in the North York Moors National Park - that's over 5 million trees!
"Now in 2024 it's an amazing landscape and completely transformed... The pleasure I get seeing the growth in the trees, the growth in the wildlife - that makes it all worthwhile for me."
- Mark Hayes, landowner
The scheme is funded through section 106 agreements with Anglo American as part of offsetting carbon emissions from the Woodsmith Mine.
If you are a farmer or landowner within the National Park and are interested in creating areas of wooded habitat on your land, head over to the grant page.
